The Voopoo Vinci Pod Royal Edition slightly upgrades the original Vinci pod kit. This is mainly due to the premium materials it’s constructed with and its new pods.
The Vinci Royal device is made from aviation-grade aluminum and zinc alloy. It contains an 800mAh battery powered by Voopoo’s GENE AI chipset.
The kit comes with two new pods that contain a 0.8Ω and 1.2Ω coil. They have a 2ml capacity and feature a new top-fill system & anti-leak design.
The Vinci Royal Edition pod kit is available in 6 different designs: White Leaf, Black Ripple, Silver Jazz, Gold Jazz, Gold Leaf, and Silver Icon.

Design & Style
At first look, the Voopoo Vinci Royal Edition appears to be just like the previous Vinci pod kit. However, once you get up close and hold it in your hand, it’s an entirely different story.
The Vinci Royal brings with it a touch of class and a premium feel, thanks to the materials used. It’s constructed from aviation grade 6061 aluminum and zinc alloy, which not only gives it a hefty feel (58.5g) but makes it extremely robust.
The finish on the white version we have in for review is excellent, smooth with a slightly matte texture. There’s also a lovely raised leaf pattern on one side that looks great and gives it some grip.
Voopoo has created 6 different designs in the Royal edition. We have the ‘White Leaf’ for review; then there is the Black Ripple, Silver Jazz, Gold Jazz, Gold Leaf, and Silver Icon.
I’m not sure what the Royal connection is with all of these. Voopoo has some mumbo jumbo about ‘Artisan designs.’ Either way, I’m sure the others will be made of the same premium materials.
As for the design and layout of the Vinci Royal Edition, it’s just like the regular Vinci pod kit.
There are 4 small LED lights on the front side to indicate battery status and a slider on the side, which is for adjusting the airflow to the pods.
The pods seem to be where the real upgrades have occurred with the Vinci, and we will cover these in detail later.
They connect to the device in the same way and click into place perfectly. There are no magnets, but they are held in place well but still easy to remove.
Overall the Vinci Royal Edition is a premium feeling and looking pod system with excellent build quality.
The Vinci Pod Royal Edition comes with the same 800mAh internal battery as the standard Vinci pod kit. It also uses the same GENE AI chipset.
However, that’s a good thing, as it’s an excellent chipset that delivers 11-15W of power (depending on the resistance of pod attached). It also fires extremely fast thanks to its superb Auto-Draw switch.
The Vinci Royal Edition has all the usual safety protections: Overtime, Output Over-Current, Low Battery, Over-Discharge, Over Temperature, Over Charge, and Atomizer Short-Circuit Protection.
It also features a USB Type C port for charging with a rate of 1A.
The LED Indicator lights on the front will show your battery status with the following:
- Green = 60-100%
- Blue = 60-20%
- Red = Less than 20%
The Vinci Royal comes with two pods in the kit, which both have a 2ml capacity. One of the pods contains a 0.8Ω coil, and the other with a 1.2Ω coil.
Like the standard Vinci pod kit, the pods have the coils built-in, so you will need to replace the whole pod.
They have, however, been upgraded over the standard pods. There is a new fill method. Instead of the side filing rubber plug, they now have a top-fill system.
You simply snap off the mouthpiece, and it will reveal the rubber plug and fill hole. It’s just like the fill method used for the Caliburn’s, and it’s so much cleaner and easier to do than a side fill port.
You can fill the pod while it’s still in the device. However, it might still be best to remove it to prevent any excess liquid from leaking through.
The mouthpiece for the pods is the same duck-billed shape, which isn’t the greatest but seems to have become the norm with these style pods.
The Voopoo Vinci Royal Edition pod kit actually performs a lot better than the original Vinci pod kit.
However, this has nothing to do with the device itself, as they are almost identical except for the materials used. The slight performance upgrade is actually from the new pods.
Both the new 0.8Ω and 1.2Ω pods seem to deliver a slightly smoother draw and definitely more pronounced flavor than the standard Vinci pods.
There’s no mention from Voopoo whether they have changed the coils or the material used. But testing them side by side, I feel these new pods perform better.
They seem to have the same longevity/lifespan as the standard pods but are a damn sight easier to refill thanks to the new top-fill method. It’s also worth mentioning that I had no issues with leaking at all during my time using the pods on the Vinci Royal Edition.
So if you already have a Vinci pod device, look out for these new pods, as they will no doubt improve your vape experience.
As for whether you should invest in the Royal Edition of the Vinci pod kit over the standard Vinci, that will entirely come down to whether you want the more premium feel of the Royal.
- Excellent build quality
- Looks good
- Feels great in the hand
- Easy to use
- Adjustable airflow
- Great flavor
- Good vapor production
- USB-C charging
- Good battery life
- No Leaking
- Pods compatible with original Vinci kit
- Premium materials = premium price
The Voopoo Vinci Royal Edition pod kit is quite possibly one of the more premium-feeling pod systems on the market.
It has excellent build quality and feels fantastic in the hand.
It also performs brilliantly thanks to the new improved pods (although the standard Vinci is no slouch). However, the pods are also cross-compatible with the original Vinci, so just look out for these new pods if you have that one.
For those that don’t own an original Vinci pod kit and want something a little more premium, the Royal Edition is an excellent pod kit.
