OXBAR is a disposable vape brand created by the OXVA team to specialize solely in disposable vapes.
The ‘Fox’ is their latest entry into the market and the highest capacity disposable they currently offer.
It features 16ml of pre-filled juice at a 5% (50mg) nicotine strength. It also comes with a 550mAh battery that is rechargeable via USB-C. As a result, the Fox can deliver a whopping 7000 puffs per bar.
The Fox utilizes a 1.0Ω mesh coil, and there are currently 10 flavor options in the range.
The OXBAR’s The Fox disposable has a really familiar form factor with its box mod style design.
However, there’s something about The Fox’s that just gives a very premium look. This is thankfully followed up with the build quality of the device.
It’s hard to describe a disposable as a premium device, but The Fox definitely pokes its head out compared to other less desirable feeling disposables.
I expect some of that premium quality comes from the matte-finished metal shell on the device’s body. So often, competing device stick to the plastic or rubberized finish, but this certainly elevates The Fox.
There’s also the intricate pattern on either side of the body, along with the subtle branding and flavoring that glistens through from the shiny parts of the shell.
It’s all very sleek and definitely more my style than a brightly colored plastic box.
The Fox disposables come in colors matching the flavor profiles within, but they have tried to stick to a more sophisticated palette and not glaring neon colors.
I particularly love the green of the Berries Watermelon one we have in for review.
The rest of the device is as you’d expect for a disposable bar. There is a USB-C charging port on the device’s base, along with the airflow hole and LED status light.
The top section of The Fox is a contrasting glossy plastic finish that has the mouthpiece molded into it. The mouthpiece is long, slender, slightly contoured in shape, and extremely comfortable to use.
It’s also worth mentioning that the Fox measures 79mm x 44mm x 23mm, which is just a shade smaller than the Dragbar BC500 and a touch thicker than the Elfbar BC5000 – two of its popular competitors.
Overall I’m really impressed with the design and styling of The Fox disposables. They are quite a sophisticated breath of fresh air in an otherwise ‘garish’ market.
Blue Razz just seems to be the go-to flavor for most disposable ranges. To be honest, it’s kind of a hard flavor to mess up. That being said, OXBAR has done an excellent job making this one come to life. There is a really lovely punch of sweetness on the inhale of candied blue raspberries. The flavor stays true throughout without being too artificial or too sweet. Then there’s a subtle little kick of cooling on the exhale, finishing it off nicely.
This is a really great blend of Berries and Watermelon. I would say Watermelon is the dominant flavor, and it’s certainly the first flavor present on the inhale. However, you get this perfect undertone of berry sharpness all the way throughout the vape, with little extra punchy notes every now and then. The balance between the two flavors is great, giving it more depth than other Watermelon flavors. There’s also a touch of cooling with this one on the exhale, but also very subtle.
The performance from the Fox disposables is fortunately in line with its more premium looks.
I was really impressed with the MTL draw the device provides; it sits on the tight to medium MTL scale – which is ideal for such a device. (Often, I find disposables lean more to the loose MTL draw).
There is no adjustable airflow, but it’s really not needed when the airflow is spot-on like this.
The auto-draw trigger is also excellent and fires the instant you inhale with just the slightest pull. Of course, I expected nothing less, as OXVA’s pods also have perfect auto-draw triggers.
Sadly I can’t make a full critique of the flavors in the range as we were only sent options for review.
However, I can tell you that both flavors we tested were excellent and on par with the top disposables in the market. Whether this will be the case for the entire range is hard to say.
Looking at the 10 flavors they offer, they are very much in the typical fruit range, with a few ice options thrown in. That’s no bad thing, but if you are looking for more adventurous flavors, you might just have to wait for the range to expand.
It is a little disappointing that currently, The Fox is only available in a 5% (50mg) option. I would love to have seen a 2% or even a nicotine-free version.
I had no complaints with the puff count from The Fox and feel it gets you close to the advertised 7000 puffs per bar. The 550mAh battery does a steady job of holding up, but it’s not the quickest to recharge. There is also no vape while charging, which is often the case with disposables.
OXBAR has done an excellent job with The Fox disposable’s build quality and premium styling.
It’s easily one of the most sophisticated-looking disposables on the market.
It also delivers an excellent MTL vape, with the mesh coils providing excellent flavor and plenty of vapor. The flavors we tested were great, as good as similar flavor profiles we’ve tried from competing disposables.
I hope OXBAR extends the range to have other nicotine strengths because not every vaper wants the high nicotine hit of 5%.
However, if you are a high-nicotine vaper and want a more premium-looking and feeling disposable, The Fox would be an excellent choice.
