What kind of magic is this?

GeekVape Ammit MTL RDA

Geekvape has joined the stream of companies building low wattage MTL atomizers in 2018. However, their entry comes with a familiar name – it’s the Ammit MTL RDA.

The Ammit is a 22mm single coil RDA, which utilizes Geekvape’s unique 3D airflow design. The top airflow system features a built-in chimney that directs airflow out beneath your coils from 3 directions.

It has 12 airflow adjustment options, so can cater for any type of MTL draw and even DTL. It also comes with 3 different style drip tips and a squonk pin.

The Ammit MTL RDA is available in 7 colors; Black, SS, Gold, Blue, Gunmetal, Violet, and Rainbow.

The Good

Elegant design, excellent build quality, tons of airflow options, excellent flavor and smooth airflow production.

The Bad

Post screws are not the best, and the throat hit is not quite as defined as other MTL atomizers.

The Bottom Line

We were all surprised by just how good the Ammit MTL RDA performs in both MTL and restricted DTL setups. It produces bundles of flavor with an extremely smooth draw. It’s an excellent design that shouldn’t work on paper but truly delivers in practice, and it has enough airflow configurations to suit any MTL vaper. Highly recommended.

GeekVape Ammit MTL RDA

The Ammit MTL RDA is single coil and 22mm in diameter and is marketing as being specifically for mouth-to-lung vaping.

However, that’s not quite the case. The Ammit actually has 12 different airflow settings, which go from a tight MTL draw all the way to a comfortable restricted DTL draw.

This is all delivered through Geekvapes well-regarded 3D airflow system, which is built around a dual post deck.

The Ammit has a top to bottom airflow design, which means even with its substantial juice well, the way the airflow holes sit make it almost impossible to leak.

The AFC ring has one cyclops style inlet and one simple round inlet which enables you to cover or uncover either a group of air holes or just a single one, giving you complete control to fine-tune your draw.

It also comes with a selection of drip tips/mouthpieces. There are 3 different 510 style tip all with differing restrictions, ranging from a 3mm to 2mm bore – which does make it a versatile RDA.

The Ammit is squonk compatible and comes with a squonk pin. The way the juice well sits beneath the deck and air holes make it ideal as a squonking RDA.

It can be used as a dripper, and the 2ml capacity juice well is more than sufficient, but due to the positioning of the 3D airflow you may find some juice going astray.

GeekVape Ammit MTL RDA

In this day an age of low profile reduced chamber RDAs or overly tall and ornate looking MTL RDAs, it’s nice to see that although the Ammit MTL RDA is tall, it has a pleasant style to it.

It is an uncluttered and moderately elegant looking RDA. It foregoes sharp straight edges and instead has more of a domed conical shape, with just one simple piece of branding, a printed Ammit symbol.

I always find that MTL 510 drip tips look a little awkward and out of place on RDAs, but Geekvape has done a good job not only giving you options but making sure they suit the style of the device.

I also think they have made an excellent selection of colors and the Ammit looks good in every single one of them.

Build Quality

It’s a Geekvape product so the build quality is top-notch as you’d expect.

The machining is perfect and smooth, and the RDA has no sharp edges.

The tolerance of the o-rings and the top cap connection are good, but maybe could be a little tighter. However, it won’t come off easily and can still hold the weight of most of my squonk mods.

My daily driver of an RDA is currently the Recurve, which has an incredibly thick top cap, so this one feels a little thin and flimsy to me. But I’m pretty sure it’s durable and sturdy enough to take some accidental abuse.

GeekVape Ammit MTL RDA

No direct innovation really, but Geekvape have been championing their 3D airflow design in many devices, and it’s great to see it in an MTL RDA.

They have been extremely smart with the design, to keep it compact and ensure the RDA is suited to squonking.

Just looking how the airflow is set up it really shouldn’t work for MTL, but it genuinely does. This either tells you that I know nothing about airflow, or that Geekvape has spent a lot of time engineering and testing this design.

Build Deck8.5
GeekVape Ammit MTL RDA

The build deck in the Ammit RDA may look quite complicated at first glance because of all of the air holes, but it is just a simple two post build deck.

It’s effortless to build on, just slot you coil legs through the post holes, make sure it’s lined up with your 3 airflow slots, and then tighten down on the Philips screws.

I’m not a huge fan of the Philips screws they have used; they are a little small and fiddly. I’d have preferred to see them a little wider or hex screws instead.

Still, it’s an easy deck to use, and there’s plenty of space for 3mm ID coils, and 2-2.5mm coils work just fine also.

GeekVape Ammit MTL RDA

The Ammit MTL RDA has enormous space for your wicks in the juice well that sits beneath the build deck.

It’s incredibly easy to tuck the wicks down there, and the capillary action of the wicks works well even with high VG juices, I had absolutely no issues with wicking.

GeekVape Ammit MTL RDA

One of the reasons the Ammit RDA wicks so well, is because of it squonks so well.

You can easily give the squonk bottle a full press, and that will saturate the wicks in the deep juice well, without any juice coming up over to coil and down any of the air holes.

Any juice that does find it’s way near an air hole, doesn’t make it’s way out of the RDA just by the nature of the top airflow design.

It’s perfect for squonking and as leakproof as you can get in an RDA.

GeekVape Ammit MTL RDA

When it comes to airflow configuration, Geekvape has got you covered with the Ammit MTL RDA.

As we discussed above the AFC ring has 5 air holes all varying in size, and either a cyclops style inlet or an individual hole to line up for the desired airflow.

The air travels down the built-in chimney inside of the top cap, where it meets two holes on the base of the build deck. It then travels up beneath the coil hitting it at 3 different points through separate airflow holes.

One airhole is straight between the posts, the other is an angled block on the other side of the deck, and the last in directly beneath the coil.

Interestingly the air hole directly beneath the coil actually has a small insert which you can unscrew, with the provided flathead screwdriver. There’s also another insert included in the spares kit. One has a 2mm diameter hole, the other a slightly smaller 1.75mm.

I preferred keeping the 2mm insert in place, but it’s great to see Geekvape giving you so many options when it comes to airflow.

GeekVape Ammit MTL RDA

I’ve run several different builds in the Ammit MTL RDA from simple round coil builds to fancier fused Claptons, and it performs admirably each time.

The flavor is obviously more punchy with a 3mm ID Clapton coil if you are using it for a DTL vape, compared to a smaller ID coil or round wire. However, I was pretty surprised by the flavor this RDA was putting out

It’s not going to be on par with a high wattage DTL RDA, but for a low wattage MTL RDA, that can also do DTL it is very impressive.

The one thing I would mention is if you are running it solely as an MTL RDA, and you absolutely love having an intense throat hit, I found the Ammit to be a little softer on the intensity of the hit compared to some other MTL atomizers. I tried all of the drip tip combinations, and some were better than others, but it wasn’t ever as sharp and intense as something like the Berserker MTL RDA.

GeekVape Ammit MTL RDA

The flavor the Ammit RDA produces is impressive for an MTL atomizer.

I genuinely wasn’t expecting it to be as saturated and flavorful as it was, especially as an MTL vape, based off of the airflow set up and chamber size.

For me it even shines as a restricted direct to lung RDA, the flavor is just as prominent and easily rivals some other single coil RDAs I have in my rotation.

Trust me you are going to like the flavorful vape the Ammit MTL RDA gives you.

GeekVape Ammit MTL RDA

The Ammit has a plethora of airflow options…..and then some!

It really is an excellent RDA for being able to dial in the exact type of MTL vape you like, whether that be extremely tight or loose.

Personally, I like to restricted lung vape, and the Ammit can undoubtedly deliver that with the airflow wide open.

It is an amazingly smooth draw in whichever setup you go for, and actually reasonably silent as well.

I’m still not entirely sure how it manages it with all that airflow going around the coil, but it really delivers in both MTL and restricted DTL – it’s very impressive.

GeekVape Ammit MTL RDA

The Ammit MTL RDA by Geekvape is an excellent RDA and performs flawlessly….even when it shouldn’t!

The fact you can get such a flavorful tight MTL draw from a device that has so much airflow going around the coil just baffles me…’s some kind of Geekvape magic.

Still, I don’t have to understand it to like it, and I more than like this RDA – in fact, I love it.

It’s one of the better-looking MTL RDAs on the market, it has superb build quality, and it can deliver both an extremely tight MTL and restricted DTL vape with bundles of flavor and super smooth airflow.

I’m genuinely impressed with the Ammit RDA, and I highly recommend it to anyone looking for an MTL RDA.
